Discipline

  1. The working day is divided in to two sessions. The morning session commences with the Assembly at 8:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm. The afternoon session is from 1:10 pm to 2:30 pm.
  2. Punctual and regular attendance is insisted upon. Leave of absence from school for weddings, functions etc. must be applied for previously. The general terms of excuse such as: "for business", for some ceremony" are not sufficient.
  3. Pupils are expected to put in 90% of the attendance as required by the ICSE Code.
  4. Absence without leave from school, for examinations/tests and at the reopening of school, after holidays will be looked upon very seriously. A medical certificate has to be produced in case of illness.
  5. When a pupil has been absent from School or arrives late for any session, the pupil must produce this calendar with the leave note entered and signed in the Leave Record by his parent or guardian. This must be countersigned by the Principal or her deputy, without which the pupil will not be allowed into the classroom and will then be regarded as absent. In case of absence for a day only, the class teacher may countersign the leave note. More than one day's absence has to be intimated to the Academic Co-ordinator by means of a leave note.
  6. If a pupil present in the forenoon session, requires leave in the afternoon, a letter should be brought from parents and must be countersigned by the Principal or her deputy.
  7. No pupil is allowed to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher or until the class is dismissed. No pupil is allowed to leave the school premises during school hours including the short break and luck break without the written permission of the Principal or her deputy.
  8. Irregular attendance, insubordination to teachers, habitual inattention to school work, obscenity in word or act, are sufficient reasons for permanent or temporary dismissal of a pupil. Other offences such as coming habitually late to class, damaging school property etc. are punishable according to the nature of the offence.
  9. Ordinarily the school does not hold itself responsible for the pupils conduct outside its premises. In justice to itself, however, it takes cognizance of any serious misconduct of its pupils committed outside its precincts and should any serious charge be substantiated, the guilty shall be punished according to the gravity of the offence.
  10. The school calendar must be brought to school every day. The specimen signature of the parent (or guardian) has to be shown by every pupil on the page indicated in the calendar.
  11. Pupils attending class or any other function in the school are expected to be neatly dressed in school uniform. Failure to wear the prescribed uniform to class shall entail the pupil being sent home and marked absent for the day.
  12. Books and other articles should have a name or mark by which the owner can be easily known and all stray or unclaimed property should be brought to the office of the Academic Co-ordinator. The school does not hold itself responsible for the loss or damage of such property. Loss of books, pen, should be immediately reported to the Academic Co-ordinator.
  13. Books, periodicals or papers of any objectionable character should not be brought to the school.
  14. Pupils are expected to live either with their parents or guardians.
  15. A pupil who has been suffering from an infectious disease must produce a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner, so that he/she may attend school without risk of conveying infection. The Principal reserves the right, however, of extending the time of re-admitting the pupil in class after obtaining medical advice.
  16. Without the Principal's permission, pupils must not join any clubs or associations or make any engagement that would interfere with their studies.
  17. Cell phones are strictly prohibited during school hours. Expensive articles such as digital cameras, mp3 players etc, should not be brought to the school.
  18. All correspondence should be addressed to the Principal.
